Description
The power of journaling with children has blown me away in the past few months!
I have done similar with my own child and seen a huuuuuge difference in her ability to talk about the ‘negative’ emotions, as well as being able to celebrate the things she is good at too!
And with clients, it has enabled their children to talk about their emotions, hard things and good things that have happened in their days, without the parental pressure that is naturally there when we ask ‘how was your day?’
This set is intentionally designed for those younger children as a starting point to journaling. With fun prompts such as ‘If you had any super power…’ and ‘something that made me laugh today….’, children are encouraged to talk about themselves and think about things they may never have thought of before.
Each of the 20 different pages has a space to talk about the emotions they have felt during the day, encourgaing them to develop their language around what they have felt. There is also a space for them to draw their own face in case one of the ones provided doesn’t fit the bill. I have made sure to not place the different emotion faces in an order of good to bad – as I don’t believe there are any bad emotions. All are normal, and all are felt by everyone. The ability to express them and talk about them is powerful for us all. The sooner we learn this, the better!
Keep an eye out for further pages that will encourage deeper thinking in accordance to your child developing brain, age and stage.
